On March 28, 2024, the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences hosted the appointment ceremony for the President of the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education&Traning Ability at the National Research Smart Work Center. The event was attended by the Chairman, the Secretary-General, the Chief of Management Support, and other representatives from various research institutions.

President Go Hye-won has a distinguished background, having previously served as a member of the Public Institution Management Evaluation Committee at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, a public interest commissioner at the Central Labor Commission, the head of the Employment Ability and Qualifications Research Division at the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education&Traning Ability, and a non-executive director of the board at Korea Polytechnic University.

The term for the newly appointed president is three years. During this period, her management performance and research achievements will be evaluated annually by the National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences.
